The Silent Album: 'Lines - This Is Where We Are Now'

OK, it's a little...OK then its very silly but from all the silent songs/lyrics or whatever they are that I have written together as if there was music to it.

I decided to call it 'Lines' because I don't have a band or play music, I just write the lines that could go to it.  I call the collection 'This Is Where We Are Now' because most of the songs come from a period of time that had so many highs, laughs and a lot of changes.  I would happily re-live this period of time again.

Lines - This Is Where We Are Now

1. Reflections
2. Office Ringtone
3. Broken Horizons
4. The Door
5. The Goat
6. Little Black Grape
7. Scattered Patterns Gone Astray
8. Run and Hide
9. Sand Beneath My Feet
10. Tom Curtis
11. I Nearly Drowned So I went For A Second Swim
Very Silent Track
12. Cabbage Faced Slut

I like a lot of people, Wilco, Tom Waits, Band of Horses, Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers and The New Pornographers. I am an ignorant amateur, hence I read your blog ..... to learn.

I saw Band of Horses last year at Shepherds Bush in London. They were immense...well the lead singer was , the rest of the band were, to say the least bland. Do you go to many gigs or have you seen many bands live? From what you've said there, yo have a very similar taste of music as me which, is no band thing.

Well I feel sorry for you if you're learning from ME. I have a few vids of bands I've been to see on http://www.youtube.com/user/kokanez. I have some but not all up there, the one of Band Of Horses is there.

I do not go to may gigs because I live in a city where nobody comes and I do not have enough money to go to other places.

I would like to make a deal, can you recommend me, every now and then, a song, a band, an album, whatever in order to learn to appreciate good music. You will not get much in return, just the satisfaction of teaching someone who don't know. Deal?

Deal! I shall start now. But I will let you know when I hear a new band/album/song that takes my interest.

New Album by an old band: Eels - Hombre Lobo

New album by a new band: Passion Pit - Manners

A band you should get into: Nada Surf (start with their album 'The Weight Is A Gift')

A song you should listen to: 'Photobooth' By Exlovers (http://www.myspace.com/weareexlovers) - Its shoegazing-pop-indie-perfection.

Let me know wht you think of my recommendations. Also, if hear of anyone, let me know. Its not all one sided. Enjoy!

Thank you, you are very kind. I am going to listen to them as soon as I get a better internet connection. I have just heard Passion Pit - The Reeling and I really like it. Again, thank you.
